Here’s a Great Easy Way to Check Your Potted Plant’s Need for water~

Want an easy way to check water levels in nondraining plant pots?
Why not try the Jacrist Dipstick?
When repotting, insert a thin plastic pipe vertically in pot touching the bottom BEFORE you add the soil, then add soil as needed to fill any voids in pot.
To use, insert a thin dowel or bamboo stick inside the pipe, let it rest for a few seconds and then pull it up like a dipstick. Any residual water inside the pot will easily show up on the stick. Rewater when level is absent or low.
Just another way Jacrist helps share our love of plants with you.

Continuing the Theme of Texture and Movement in Gardens

In the early 1990’s, I had the pleasure of studying with Oehme, van Sweden & Associates of Washington, DC, learning how to incorporate native grasses and perennials into my garden designs. It was transformative to say the least for me!

Piet Oudolf has masterfully continued this theme worldwide, creating beautiful tapestries of his own. Anyone walking the High Line trail in Manhattan has enjoyed one of his creations. I know I was thoroughly impressed and didn’t want it to end when I did~

Here’s a video of him and his work by noted journalist, Judy Woodruff
